person.biographyIn 2009, Dr. Santos-Rufo began working at the University of Córdoba (UCO), before graduating, as an agronomic engineering student with a scholarship funded by a project related to Slope Conservation Agriculture. After graduating, he worked as a recent graduate at the Spanish Association of Conservation Agriculture-Living Soils and later at the Andalusian Institute for Agricultural, Fisheries, Food and Ecological Production Research and Training (IFAPA) and the University of Athens, during his predoctoral training (2010-2014), as well as at IFAPA and the UCO as a contracted postdoctoral researcher (2017-2019; 2020-2022), where he participated/participates as a team member in several research projects and contracts, and as Interim Substitute Professor (PSI) at the University of Huelva (UHU; 2021-2022). Furthermore, in 2020 he completed the University Master's Degree in Digital Transformation of the Agri-Food and Forestry sector, and in 2021 he obtained the RPAS AESA pilot title (renewed in 2022). Currently, Dr. Santos-Rufo works as an Assistant Professor at the UHU where he teaches the subjects of Plant protection, Fruticulture, Management and Maintenance and Conservation of Green Areas, among others. Additionally, he works as an honorary collaborator at the UCO, where he participates as a team member in various research projects and contracts. To date, his specialization has focused on the study of water relations that allow minimizing Verticillosis, as well as, the study of rooting in semihardwood cutting of different species (olive and blueberry), although after completing his doctoral period his scientific activity, together with his teaching activity, has diversified by collaborating with national/international remote sensing groups and biotechnology, as well as participating in scientific activities related to the biological control of diseases through Pre-commercial public procurement projects (Innolivar Project) and research projects (MICINN VERTOLEA AND BIOLIVE Projects).
