Abstract

The survey was used as a technique through an instrument consisting of 23 items divided into 5 categories: 1) know how to create and manipulate data sets, 2) know how to use specialized information systems and programs, 3) know how to socialize and collaborate in digital environments, 4 ) know how to exercise and respect a digital citizenship and 5) digital literacy. The instrument was supplied by means of an electronic form. The main findings suggest that students frequently use digital technologies for communicative purposes and for the basic search of information, identifying as an area of opportunity the development of strategies to determine the accuracy of the information they retrieve from the Internet, using digital tools designed exclusively for research purposes and information analysis, also strengthen their active participation in the dissemination of their knowledge
