Abstract

Lower Thanetian (Paleocene) fluvial and lacustrine deposits in Ager Basin contain frequent invertebrate burrows. These burrows are cylindrical, unlined and internally meniscate or maslve. Four forms are described in detail, showing their relationships with microcodium structures (tin situ* and reworked) and changes in sediment textures. Each trace is characteristic o f d istin c sedim entary and/or ed a p h ic fa c ie s: s h a llo w lacustrine (A 1), palustrine (A2), flood plain soils (:B.2) and crevasse splays (B. 1)
