Abstract
ingeniero militar Joseph Barnola
From the first moments in the history of the beacon towers of Huelva, the place of Asperillo, those who were responsible for the project thought it was one of the suitable places for the construction of a watchtower. Despite this, its location on a cliff directly beaten by the sea, soon turned it into a building threatened with ruin. In this article we will focus on the serious state that the watchtower presented in the middle of the eighteenth century, which would give rise to its demolition and reconstruction through a project of the military engineer Joseph Barnola
