Abstract
In this work, we present the first three radiometric ages (U-Pb in zircon) of the subvolcanic intrusions from the Montalbán Anticline (Iberian Range). The results reveal the ages of these intrusions as follows: 292 ± 2 Ma for an andesitic dike in Segura de Baños, 291 ± 8 for an andesitic sill in Hoz de la Vieja and 293 ± 3 Ma for a dacitic sill in Montalbán (Teruel). The data indicate that the magmatism of the Montalbán anticline was active between 293 and 291 Ma (Sakmarian). The obtained U-Pb ages allow us to associate the subvolcanic intrusions from the Montalbán Anticline with the calc-alkaline magmatism of predominantly intermediate composition, which occurred during the early Cisuralian along the entire SW of the European Variscan Orogen
