Abstract
El depósito de la Formación Aguilar (Grupo Campóo) supuso la reactivación
de la sedimentación como consecuencia del inicio de la fase Rift del
Jurásico Superior – Cretácico Inferior, generándose una importante ruptura
sedimentaria con respecto a la sucesión marina jurásica previa. No existe
registro sedimentario de este periodo temporal (Calloviense medio – Titoniense
terminal), si bien las calcretas laminares incluidas como clastos en
los depósitos basales de la Formación Aguilar pueden aportar información
sobre los procesos ocurridos durante este tiempo. Dichas calcretas, están
constituidas por el apilamiento de cuatro microfábricas, que se organizan de
manera más o menos regular en una secuencia que se repite. El análisis de
estas cuatro microfábricas ha permitido establecer un modelo genético para
su formación
The accumulation of the Aguilar Formation (Campóo Group), as a result of the onset of the later Jurassic – early Cretaceous Rift phase, supposed an important sedimentary break above the previous Jurassic marine succession. There is not sedimentary record from this time (Middle Callovian – Late Tithonian), however, the laminar calcretes included into the basal deposits of the Aguilar Formation can offer information about the processes occurred during this hiatus. The development of these calcretes is the result of the accretion of four microfabrics, organised in a more or less regular repetitive sequence. The analysis of these four microfabrics has allowed to deduce how they were generated, as well as to establish a genetic model to explain its genesis
