Los padres ante la publicidad y el consumo

Abstract

Se describe en esta colaboración el proceso de implantación y seguimiento de la Escuela de Padres y Madres que se inició en Ourense desde 1994 a 1997. En concreto el artículo se centra en el bloque temático denominado: «El binomio publicidad-consumo. Reflexión desde el prisma familiar». Los objetivos de la experiencia se centraban en implicar a los padres en el proceso educativo de sus hijos, mejorando sus niveles de competencia, considerando a la familia como primera institución de modelado, aprendizaje y socialización, y analizando el importante papel de los medios de comunicación de masas, especialmente la publicidad, como elementos de socialización secundarios.

In this contribution, it is described the process of establishment and monitoring of the Fathers and Mothers School that was originated in Ourense from 1994 to 1997. The article focuses specifically on the thematic block called: <<The advertising-consumption relation. A reflection from the family perspective>>. The objectives of the experience focused on getting the parents involved in the educational process of their children, improving their competence levels, taking into account the family as the first institution of modeling, learning and socialization, and analyzing the important role of the mass media, especially advertising, as supporting elements of socialization.
