Fluid inclusions associated to Mari Rosa and El Juncalón antimony deposits show that N2 is a relevant component of the fluid phase. Besides, altered host rocks show significant enrichment in nitrogen rather than depletion. N2 in hydrothermal fluids mainly originates from the release to the fluid of ammonium from NHJj- bearing silicates at T>550-600°C (Hallam & Eugster, 7 976; Dubessy & Ramboz, 7 986). According to that, inner contact metamorphic aureoles around near-by granitic bodies were the probable sites for nitrogen hydrothermal lixiviationes_ES
