Calidad de la gestión en los grados universitarios españoles de Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el deporte

Abstract

Los objetivos del presente estudio son: a) conocer la opinión que el personal docente e investigador (PDI) de los grados de Ciencias de la Actividad Física y del Deporte (CAFD) otorga a la importancia de las distintas figuras de gestión académica; b) conocer la opinión que el personal docente e investigador (PDI) de los grados de Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte (CAFD) tiene sobre los gestores académicos que ha tenido; y c) a través de la opinión del personal docente e investigador, realizar un perfil del buen gestor académico en Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte. La muestra estuvo formada por 126 profesores universitarios que impartían docencia en el grado de Ciencias de la Actividad Física y el Deporte en el curso 2013-2014. El instrumento utilizado fue el apartado de gestión universitaria del “Cuestionario sobre Criterios de Calidad del Personal Docente e Investigador Universitario en Ciencias de la Actividad Física y Deporte (CPDICAFD)”. Los resultados obtenidos destacan la importancia de la figura del Decano, si bien al valorar la figura unipersonal de gestión que han tenido, valoran por encima al vicedecano. Con respecto a las características personales más valoradas en un buen gestor, los resultados señalaron que la habilidad para planificar y las relaciones humanas son las más valoradas. Estos resultados pueden ser una guía tanto para la elección de gestores, teniendo en cuenta las habilidades más importantes que debe de tener un gestor, como para hacer una valoración diferente de cada cargo según su importancia y responsabilidad

The objectives of this study are: a) to know the opinion that the teaching and research staff (PDI) of the Physical Activity and Sports Science degrees (CAFD) gives to the importance of the different academic management figures; b) to know the opinion that the teaching and research staff (PDI) of the Physical Activity and Sports Science degrees (CAFD) has about the academic managers that they have had; and c) through the opinion of the teaching and research staff, to make a profile of the good academic manager in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. The sample consisted of 126 university professors who taught in the degree of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences in the 2013-2014 academic year. The instrument used was the university management section of the "Questionnaire on Quality Criteria of Teaching Personnel and University Researcher in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (CPDI-CAFD)". The results obtained emphasize the importance of the figure of the Dean, although when valuing the unipersonal figure of management they have had, they value the Vice-Dean above. With respect to personal characteristics most valued in a good manager, the results indicated that the ability to plan and human relationships are the most valued. These results can be a guide both for the choice of managers, taking into account the most important skills that a manager must have, as well as to make a different assessment of each position according to its importance and responsibility
