Abstract
A detailed sedimentological analysis of the Guara formation, after a bed by bed analysis of 3 logs located in a transect perpendicular to the Santo Domingo chain (Huesca), is presented herein. Six sedimentation episodes show an overall transgressive trend. The last one represents a lateral facies change between marls of the Arguis Formation, and bivalve and echinoid limestones of the Guara Formation. During the deposition of the succession the study area was located in a proximal setting, close to the Jaca-Pamplona basin margin, as evidenced by the identified facies and the thickness of the sedimentary series
