Abstract
The alluvial aquifer of the Guadiaro, Genal and Hozgarganta ri vers, located in the western part of the Mediterranean coast, is made up of recent alluvial deposits and old fluvial terraces that occupy the meadows of these rivers. Near the Guadiaro river mouth, the Torre guadiaro lagoon exists and an estuary of great ecological value is formed where the fluvial-tidal dynamics play a key role. To clarify the hydrological and hydrogeological interactions, occurring between the different systems, temperature and water level sensors have been installed at several points to record continuous measurements of such variables. The results of the time series analysis, based on spectral and cross-corretlation analyses, corroborate the clear tidal influence on the hydrodynamics of the the Guadiaro river stuary and the alluvial aquifer, and also show an interaction between the latter and the Torreguadiaro lagoon
