Abstract

The Chronicle of the Dominicans of Majorca is an annalistic compilation written partly in Latin and partly in Catalan and preserved by the manuscript Palma de Mallorca, Archive of the Kingdom of Majorca, C-4739, xvii th C., ff. 38r-41v. The oldest news (in Latin) dates back to 985, while the most recent (in Catalan) corresponds to 1552. G. Llabrés edited the work in 1909, but he did not faithfully reproduce the manuscript. This paper offers the first faithful edition of the original text, study its contents and provides a linguistic analysis of the news in Latin

El Cronicón de los Dominicos de Mallorca es una compilación analística escrita en parte en latín y en parte en catalán y conservada en el manuscrito Palma de Mallorca, Archivo del Reino de Mallorca, C-4739, s. xvii , ff. 38r-41v. Su noticia más antigua (en latín) se remonta al año 985, mientras que la más reciente (en catalán) corresponde a 1552. Existe una edición de G. Llabrés aparecida en 1909, pero este editor no reprodujo con fidelidad el texto del códice. Este trabajo ofrece la primera reproducción fiel del texto original, estudia sus contenidos y ofrece un análisis lingüístico de las entradas en latín
