Abstract
This article aims to establish a direct relationship between Social Economy entities and their economic, social and environmental sustainability. We question whether it is the ethical principles and values that mark the creation or foundation of this type of entities that make them more sustainable. The current economic system is demanding more sustainable companies and organizations that offer answers to the current needs of society. This article considers that social entities show a greater orientation towards sustainable development, basically based on their constituent principles and values. First, we contextualize the Spanish social sector and then address organizational sustainable development. Our research studies the entities that make up the so-called Third Sector, which brings together all those entities classified as Social Economy. We conducted a qualitative study of the predominant values in Social Economy entities. Finally, we propose as a future line of research, the possible impact of Human Resources Management on business sustainability
