El Futuro de las relaciones entre Europa y América

Abstract

La evolución futura de la UE requiere un análisis prospectivo de las relaciones entre Europa y América del Norte y del Sur. La globalización crea demandas de gobernación mundial que reclaman un acercamiento UE-EEUU. La economía mundial se mueve en una dirección de Mercado Único que sugiere la creación probable de una zona de libre comercio del Atlántico Norte. Para América Latina, el acercamiento progresivo a EEUU, y el proyecto de Acuerdo de Libre Comercio de las Américas, reclama como elemento de equilibrio un acercamiento institucional con Europa del que formarán parte el acuerdo de libre comercio Méjico-UE y el futuro acuerdo Mercosur-UE. _______ _____________________________________The future evolution of the EU requires a study of scenarios on the relations of Europe with North and South Americas. Globalization is creating a need for world governability and a future strengthening of USA-EU relations. Furthermore. the world economy is moving in the direction of a Single Market, and suggests the need for a North-Atlantic Free Trade Area. For Latin America, the movement towards futures integration with the USA in the framework of a Free Trade Area of the Americas, points to the need of an equilibrium based in an institutional process of stronger relations with the EU, including steps like the recently promoted free-trade agreement between Mexico and the EU and the future agreement EU-Mercosur.
