Abstract
In this work we propose a structural model for the central part of the Sierras Interiores (South Pyrenean Zone). We have distinguished an “Upper Thrust System” showing duplex structures and deforming the upper part of the sedimentary sequence of Campanian to Paleocene age, and a “Deeper Thrust System”, with a kilometric lateral continuity, that duplicates the Cenomanian limestones of the Sierras Interiores. The “Deeper Thrust System” is the upper thrust of an antiformal stack made up of at least 4 Paleozoic-involving thrusts. We consider that the “Deeper Thrust System” is related to the emplacement of the Gavarnie nappe
