Notas sobre la idea del amor inmortal en la lírica amorosa de Quevedo

Abstract

El propósito de este artículo es el análisis del motivo del amor inmortal en la poesía amorosa de Francisco de Quevedo, explorando su origen y profundizando en sus diversas manifestaciones. Se trabajará, principalmente, con un corpus seleccionado de composiciones pertenecientes a la musa iv de El Parnaso español de 1648, Erato. Dicho estudio se estructurará en torno a varias cuestiones: el motivo original del «polvo enamorado», el género del epitafio, el tópico de la consolatio, la presentación tópica del amante abrasado por el fuego amoroso, la figura del Ave Fénix y, por último, el simbólico ciclo final de idilios

This article main purpose is the analysis of the immortal love’s motif in Francisco de Quevedo’s love poetry by exploring its origin and delving into its numerous samples. A selected corpus of compositions will be used in order to study the topic, those belonging to the iv muse of El Parnaso español dated from 1648, Erato. The study will be focused in several issues: the original motif of ‘polvo enamorado’; the epitaph genre; the consolatio topic; the usual appearance of the lover burnt due to loving fire; the Phoenix’s figure and, ultimately, the symbolic final cycle of idylls
