La Revolución Zapatista de Chiapas. Guerra, paz y conflicto (desde la perspectiva de sus protagonistas)

Abstract

La motivación principal del artículo es precisar la singularidad de la revolución zapatista de Chiapas, en contrate con otras revoluciones, a cuyo efecto la redacción recorre el proceso revolucionario adentrándo- se en las causas, objetivos, exigencias y problemas de la revolución con la fi nalidad de extraer de esta con fl uencia de elementos las señas de identidad de la revolución, concretadas en las conclusiones, en las que se destaca la relevancia de la sociedad civil , tanto mexicana, como inter- nacional, en el proceso revolucionario en un doble papel: como referente de los zapatitas en su lucha, que no pretenden una revolución militar, sino política, con la fi nalidad de que la sociedad conozca la lamentable y secular situación de vejación que soportan las comunidades indígenas, y como factor impulsor de la fi nalización de la guerra y comienzo del dialogo entre representantes del ejército zapatista y del Gobierno mexi- cano. Asimismo se destaca el carácter singular de la revolución zapatista, que emprende una guerra como solución última, necesaria y justa para que las comunidades indígenas de Chiapas puedan salir de la situación en que se encuentran, sufriendo represión, amenazas, hambre, miseria, pobreza y engaños, y alcanzar los objetivos que se concretan en los dere- chos humanos más básicos.

The main motivation of this paper is to clarify the uniqueness of the Zapatista Revolution in Chiapas, in contrast with other revolutions, for which the writing runs deep into the revolutionary processes, causes, objectives, requirements and problems of the revolution, with the aim of extracting from this con fl uence of elements the identity characters of the revolution. The conclusion highlights the importance of the civil society, both Mexican and international in the revolutionary process, and shows that the struggling Zapatistas are not intending to have a military revo- lution, but rather a political revolution in order for society to know the unfortunate and secular situation that suffer the indigenous communi- ties, as a driver for the end of the war and beginning of dialogue between representatives from the Zapatista army and the Mexican government. It also highlights the unique nature of the Zapatista revolution, which wages a war as an ultimate and necessary solution. Escaping the situation of suffering repression, threats, hunger, misery, poverty and deception, was both necessary and fair to the indigenous communities in Chiapas. Also to achieve the objectives which are speci fi ed in the most basic human right.
