Escarpe de falla del Cuaternario reciente en la falla del Camp (Cadenas Costeras Catalanas)

Abstract

The activity of the El Camp fault since ear/y Neogene has originated the El Camp graben. We have defined at least three diferent Quaternary generations of al/uvial fans associated with the norma/ motion of that fault. The youngest movement which has caused morpho/ogical expression of the El Camp fault zone is in the Mont-roig fault, along which there are triangular facets and a fau/t scarp which involves a 33.000-75.000 year old alluvial fan —dated by arqueological methods (Lumley, 7971)—. Therefore, the Mont-roig fault has been active after 33.000-75.000 years BP.
