Abstract

A geological section has been constructed along the Najerilla River crossing the extreme north of the Sierra de La Demanda and the southern margin of the Ebro Basin. This section was augmented with subsurface information from seismic profiles. However: given the lack of information on the geometries of deeper Tertiary deposits close to the Cameras Thrust, we considered two explanations of this geometry are considered and that the following kinematic model is suggested as the more probable: one the geometries were produced as a result of a fault-propagation fold which was later cut by the Cameros Thrust. This model was incorporated into a computer model and suggests that it is necessary to have three stages in the development of the thrust with increasing propagation intensities in order to produce the observed structure
