dc.description.abstractMain results of the survey on "Research activities in the R&D system in Earth Sciences in Spain, 1990-94" are presented. The aim of the survey is to obtain information on different aspects of Spanish researchers' activity in this field (professional details, research activity, publication patterns, collaboration habits and other professional activities) as well as their opinion about Spanish research evaluation practices. The present work is part of an ongoing project, aimed at analysing research activities carried out in the Spanish R&D System in Earth Sciences, in order to collaborate to the development of new research evaluation practices and criteria that allow to complement and improve systems until now prevailingen_US
