Aplicación del método DRASTIC para evaluar la vulnerabilidad a la contaminación del acuífero de Oued Laou (Marruecos)

Abstract

The Oued Laou alluvial aquifer is one of the most important groundwater bodies in the northwest of Morocco. However, during the last few years this aquifer has been threatened by several pollution sources that have increasingly proliferated in the area due to the lack of any environmental protection plan, especially those concerning water resources. The main contribution of the present study is the preparation of a vulnerability map that had not previously been established for the Oued Laou aquifer. It represents a base document which the water resource managers could use as a helpful tool for decision-making processes
