Aplicación de la terapia de aceptación y compromiso a un caso de crisis de angustia con agorafobia: un estudio de caso

Abstract

Se presenta el caso de un joven con crisis de angustia con agorafobia (APA, 1994) si bien se ha conceptualizado desde un punto de vista funcional como un Trastorno Evitativo Experiencial (Luciano y Hayes, 2001). La resolución del caso se ha llevado a cabo mediante la Terapia de Aceptación y Compromiso (ACT). Se aplicó en formato individual durante 9 sesiones. Los resultados obtenidos, tanto en este estudio como en otros, indica que este abordaje terapéutico es adecuado cuando se trata de un TEE. Las medidas obtenidas en las pruebas aplicadas así lo corroboran, habiendo experimentado el paciente una mejoría significativa tanto en las crisis de angustia como en el componente agorafóbico

It is presented the case of a boy with panic attacks with agoraphobia (APA, 1994) though the disorder has been conceptualiced from a functional point of view as emotional avoidance (Luciano y Hayes, 2001). The resolution of the case was carried out through the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. It was applied individually during 9 sessions. The results we have got in this case, like others in others studies, show that this therapy is appropiated when we are talking about an experiential avoidance disorder. The measurements obtained in the applied tests corroborate it, having experienced the patient a significant improvement both in the panic attacks and in the agoraphobic component
