Abstract

The Aliaga sub-basin was developed during the Early Cretaceous in an extensional context. Structures near the northern border of this sub-basin (normal faults, syntectonic unconformities and facies and thickness changes in the basin infill) are related to this extensional tectonics. The graben and semigraben system determines the syntectonic infill thickness. In the footwall of the main faults the pre-rift sequence is eroded
