Abstract

A Rb-Sr mineral isochrone has been made from one of the most typical units of the Catalan coastal batholith. The age obtained, 284 ± 7 Ma, is 15 Ma older than the previous whole-rock isochrone available in this area whereas the Sr0 is only slightly lowered. This discrepancy is attributed to an anomalous result obtained in the sample with lower 87Rb / 86Sr which was of criticalimportance for the isochrone slope
