Abstract
En el presente trabajo se analiza la situación
de San Juan del Puerto durante la Guerra
de Sucesión de España (1701-1715), en
la que la villa tuvo un papel diferenciado
al tratarse de una zona de tránsito militar
e importancia económica dentro del
Condado de Niebla, así como por su
cercanía con Portugal. Se analizarán las
repercusiones que la contiendatuvo para
la población a todos los niveles, realizando
un estudio de microhistoriaque tiene como
principales fuentes los repartimientos y
actas capitulares del cabildo local
This paper aims to offer an approach to the situation in San Juan del Puerto during the War of the Spanish Succession (1702- 1715), in which the village played an important role for being the military and commercial passage area of the county of Niebla and for its proximity to the Portuguese border. The repercussions of the conflict over the population will be analyzedthrough a microhistoricalresearch. The primary sources used for this study will bethe military taxes and the Town Council’s meeting minutes
