Determinantes del teletrabajo y brecha de género

Abstract

El objetivo de este estudio es ampliar el conocimiento sobre los factores que condicionan el teletrabajo en España, para los años 2018 y 2021, identificando sus elementos determinantes, con especial atención a la posible existencia de una brecha de género. Los resultados muestran que, tras la generalización de esta herramienta en 2021 por el impacto de la pandemia, la probabilidad de las mujeres de teletrabajar superó a la de los hombres. Variables como la edad, el nivel educativo o las habilidades digitales, entre otras, muestran también su influencia en la adopción del teletrabajo. Además, las estimaciones separadas por género presentan diferencias significativas en algunos de sus determinantes

The aim of this study is to expand knowledge about the factors that influence telework in Spain for the years 2018 and 2021, identifying its determining elements with special attention to the possible existence of a gender gap. The results show that, following the widespread adoption of this tool in 2021 due to the impact of the pandemic, the previous predominance of men in the use of telework shifted, with women becoming more likely to use teleworking. Variables such as age, educational level or digital skills, among others, also show their influence on the adoption of teleworking.
