The morphological and microstructural study of the Crassostrea sp. shell in three estuaries/bays of Cantabria, such as the San Vicente de la Barquera Bay, the Santander Bay and the Marismas de Santoha is presented. It indicates that oysters of Santander Bay have developed shell anomalies, probably due to the exposition to tributyltin (TB7), a dangerous chemical agent that is used in antifouling paints. In the other estuaries/ bays, the oysters have not shown any detectable anomalyen_US
