Abstract
Este trabajo estudia los ostrácodos de la sección de Cartaya (Huel-va, S.O. España). Se efectúa una descripción estratigráfica detallada de esta sección, así como un análisis taxonómico y una definición de las asociaciones. Las quince muestras analizadas pertenecen a la Forma-ción Arcillas de Gibraleón. Los géneros más abundantes son Krithe, Parakrithe, Henryhowella, Cytherella y Propontocypris, frecuentes en otras secciones de la parte media-superior de esta formación, de-positadas en ambientes paleobatiales superiores del sector occidental del antiguo Estrecho Norbético. Las principales especies presentan un rango bioestratigráfico que abarca desde el Tortoniense al Holoceno
This paper studies the ostracods from the Cartaya section (Huel-va, SW Spain). A detailed stratigraphic description of the area is made, as well as a taxonomic study and a definition of assemblages. The fifteen samples taken correspond to the gray clays of the Gi-braleón Clay Formation. The most abundant genera are Krithe, Pa-rakrithe, Henryhowella, Cytherella and Propontocypris. They are frequent in other sections of the midde-upper part of this formation, deposited in upper bathyal paleoenvironments of the western part of the old Norbetic Strait. The main species present a bioestratigraphic distribution that spans from the Tortonian to the Holocene
