Abstract

Este trabajo aborda la interpretación del imperfecto ἴαλλον en la Teogonía de Hesíodo (Th. 269), que ha planteado dos problemas principales: en primer lugar, su transitividad, si se trata de un ejemplo intransitivo del verbo ἰάλλω desconocido fuera de este pasaje; y en segundo lugar, su temporalidad, dado que muchos comentaristas lo consideran un antiguo resto del injuntivo de presente indoeuropeo. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This paper explores the interpretation of the imperfect ἴαλλον in Hesiod’s Theogony (Th. 269), which has given rise to two main issues: firstly, its transitivity, since this would be the only intransitive instance of ἰάλλω in ancient Greek; and secondly, its temporality, as many scholars consider it a remnant of the IndoEuropean present injunctive.
