Evaluación del sistema playa-acantilado de Canoa (Ecuador) como sitio de interés geoturístico

Abstract

El propósito de este trabajo es evaluar el sistema acantilado-pla-ya Canoa (Ecuador) como un sitio de interés geoturístico. El trabajo constó de tres fases: i) caracterización geomorfológica analizando la influencia que pudo haber tenido en las distintas formas erosivas y de depósito el terremoto del 16 de abril de 2016, ii) evaluación se-micuantitativa mediante el método Inventario Español de Lugares de Interés Geológico (IELIG), iii) planteamiento de estrategias de de-sarrollo geoturístico mediante análisis de fortalezas, oportunidades, debilidades y amenazas (FODA). El resultado obtenido de la carac-terización y evaluación refleja que el sistema playa-acantilado tiene gran valor científico (3,83), didáctico (4,90) y turístico (4,95) por lo que, puede ser utilizado en una ruta geoturística que aproveche su potencial geomorfológico

The purpose of this work is to evaluate the Canoa cliff-beach sys-tem (Ecuador) as a site of geotourism interest. The work consisted of three phases: i) geomorphological characterization and the analysis of the influence that the earthquake of 16th April 2016 may have had on the different erosion and deposition forms, ii) semi-quantitative evaluation using Spanish Inventory of Places of Geological Interest (IELIG) method, iii) proposal of geotourism development strategies using strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis. The result obtained from the characterization and eva-luation reflects that it is a geomorphosite with great scientific (3.83), didactic (4.90) and touristic (4.95) value that can be used within any geotourism route
