This work analyses the ostracofaune of the basal sands of the "Niebla“ Formation (Baceta and Pendón,

1 999). The associations permit to infer the beginning of a transgressive sequence, with a very shallow, vegetated, infralittoral environment in the lower part of the sandy body, and an externe, more energetic infralittoral environment near the top
