La zona de falla de Gaucín (Cadenas Béticas Occidentales): cinemática y rasgos morfoestructurales asociados

Abstract

La zona de falla ONO-ESE de Gaucín está dividida en dos segmentos: En el occidental domina la deformación frágil y las fallas, pliegues menores, separaciones de escala cartográfica y rotaciones antihorarias, indican un régimen transpresivo izquierdo. El oriental, en cambio, muestra un sentido de movimiento normal-izquierdo (siendo el bloque hundido el SO). Los valores de los índices SLk y Vf indican segmentación del relieve debida principalmente al levantamiento del bloque norte, especialmente en el segmento oriental. Atendiendo a los datos estructurales y geomorfológicos, esta zona de falla ha sido activa probablemente desde el Mioceno Superior hasta el Plioceno o después

TheWNW-ESE trending Gaucin fault zone is divided into two segments. The western one is a brittle deformation band in which minor faults and folds, map-scale strike separations and counterclockwise rotations, indicate a left lateral transpressive regime. In contrast, the eastern segment shows an oblique, left lateral-normal slip sense (downthrow block on the SW side). Values of both SLk and Vf geomorphic indices suggest a segmentation of the structural and topographic relief, essentially due to the relative uplift of the northern block, especially in the eastern segment of the fault zone.
