Abstract
Structura/, convergent and differentia/ validity data are shown on afear inventory for adu/ts (N= 576 sdu/ts, 17-65 years), both genders. Parficipants fu/filled a/so the big five personalíty factors (NEO-P/-R) and other three questionnaires (into/erance of ambiguity, hosti/ity and counter-contro/). Factor ana/ysis (vanmax rotation from principal components) gave a four-factors so/ution; a/so the factor structure for each gender have shown that the structure is different for men and women. /n the range of age of this study, the vo/ume of fears is the same for all ages (transversa/ data), the differences befween genders is not very great and in all comparisons, men score higher than women. Corre/atíon results with persona/ity are not totaJ/y coherent with the theoretical definition ofthe big-five. The results are discussed in re/atian with too literature published snd the connections with personality and psychopath%gy.
