¿Qué nos dicen los marcadores magnéticos sobre la deformación dúctil en el Ordovícico de la Cordillera Ibérica?

Abstract

Se ha realizado un estudio de las fábricas magnéticas y paleomagnetismo junto con magnetismo de rocas en dos estaciones afectadas por la deformación varisca, en rocas del Ordovícico en los alrededores de Cerveruela, Rama Aragonesa de la Cordillera Ibérica. Los resultados de la fábrica magnética indican un comportamiento diferente en función de la litología muestreada y/o posición estructural dentro del pliegue. Sin embargo, la información geomagnética no ha quedado bien registrada o se ha modificado a posteriori durante eventos tectónicos posteriores. Los portadores de la remanencia son de baja coercitividad (magnetita) en los materiales lutíticos, y de alta coercitividad (hematites) en los más groseros. En todos parece haber sulfuros de hierro, de coercitividad intermedia. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A magnetic fabric and paleomagnetic study together with a rock magnetic study have been carried out in two sites of Ordovician rocks affected by the Variscan Orogeny in the surroundings of Cerveruela village, in the Aragonese Branch of the Iberian Chain. The results of the magnetic fabric indicate different behavior according to sampled lithology and/or structural position within the fold. However, the paleomagnetic information is not well registered or it has been modified by later tectonic events. The remanence carriers are of low coercivity (magnetite) in the shaly rocks and of high coercivity (hematite) in the silty rocks. In both sites there are ferromagnetic iron sulphides with medium coercivity.
