Mis calles: an open platform to explore destinations through the history of its streets

Abstract

Street names facilitate the understanding of the geographical deployment of cities and the historical facts that shaped them from their foundation. In europe, streets are usually named for famous local figures, historical events and important facts for the region. This paper introduces mis calles, an open and free Web application to collect, describe and visualise the historical facts reflected in the street names.
