Abstract
This work aims to shed light on a previously overlooked chapter in Huelva’s history. It is a unique and exceptional period, as there is no other moment in Huelva’s history when the convergence of local, national, and international factors has been so significant due to these specific historical circumstances. We analyze how the First World War influenced the economy, society, and culture of the capital of Huelva, placing special emphasis on the role played by mining companies, labor tensions, and the espionage dynamics associated with the conflict. These elements not only disrupted daily life in the region but also transformed its social and economic structure
