Abstract
At the southern end of the Catalan Costal Chains there are seve-ral caves filled by siliciclastic sandstones and limestone clasts. Those are found interstratified with Jurassic and Cretaceous units. After the development of a karstic relief that favoured the generation of many caves in the Cuevas Labradas Formation their sedimentary infill is related to the Sands of Utrillas Formation. The primary tractive se-dimentary structures developed in the sedimentary infill of the caves suggest turbulent flows in Upper Flow Regime. The infilling is located between Albian and Cenomanian stages. The mineralogy, the textu-re and the morphology of grains indicate that the primary origin of the materials is the Armorican quartzites of the Ordovician period
