Abstract
y sucesores propiciaron.
The objective of this paper is to detail the contents, thematics, strategies and motives of the laudatory biography of the Marinid sultan Abu l-Hasan (1331-1348; d.1351), written by the courtier Ibn Marzuq al-Jatib in 1371. The paper argues that the biography is guided by personal interest, and by the laudatory impulse that the sultan’s children and successors promoted.
