Entre los años 1938 y 1941 el escultor
Antonio León Ortega realizó una serie
de imágenes en el taller de la calle San
Cristóbal de Huelva, donde trabajaba el
pintor Joaquín Gómez del Castillo. Estas
imágenes fueron esculpidas por León
Ortega mientras que Gómez del Castillo
las policromaba y firmaba, atribuyéndose
la autoría completa de todas las obras
realizadas en dicho periodo
