La colección paleontológica de Casiano de Prado conservada en el Museo Geominero (ITGE, Madrid)

Abstract

During his many years of geological work, Casiano de Prado (1797-1866) assembled a very important collection of Spanish fossils, which was partially deposited in the Geological Map Commission repository. Many of the samples have been recently identified among the historical collections of the Geominero Museum, and correspond to the provinces of León, Patencia, Ciudad Real, Madrid, Segovia, Guadalajara, Cantabria and Teruel
