Abstract
Night is a favourable frame for sleep (húpnos) and onirical experiences (óneiroi), both of them connected to death (thánatos) in mythical tradition. Rhesus’s case, in his epic and tragic versions, constitutes a good example to illustrate the connection between these three fields, that entwine to create an atmosphere of ruin and destruction.
