Abstract
This study examines requests for Mass cycles in testaments written in Granada, Spain, during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The requests reveal in the modern era several different forms and sets of pro animae Mass, and of post mortem celebrations of medieval ritual, despite the disapproving dictates of the Council of Trent.
