Abstract
Este artículo tiene como objetivo explicar el hecho político de los
neoconservadores españoles que siguiendo a los neocons estadounidenses
importaron sus doctrinas sobre política exterior, en especial la teoría de la Hegemonía Benevolente que justifica en virtud del poder norteamericano y de sus
ideales democráticos: la subordinación de los Estados Occidentales ante los
Estados Unidos. En el artículo se hace consideraciones genéricas sobre el fenómeno neocon en España. Se estudian los principales escritos de los neocons
españoles más reconocidos, en particular los que tienen relación con la Guerra
de Irak. Su influencia en la opinión pública y sus críticas a la Política Exterior
de Rodríguez Zapatero. El artículo termina negando la opinión de reputados
profesores como Celestino del Arenal, José Antonio Sanahuja y Manuel Iglesias
Cavicchioli que mantiene que fueron los neocons españoles los responsables
del giro de la política exterior de José María Aznar en su segunda legislatura
entre los años 2002 y 2004
This article aims to explain the political fact of the Spanish neoconservatives who, following the American neoconservatives, imported their doctrines on foreign policy, especially the Benevolent Hegemony theory that justifies by virtue of North American power and its democratic ideals: the subordination of the states Westerners to the United States. The article makes generic considerations about the neoconservative phenomenon in Spain. The main writings of the most recognized Spanish neoconservatives are studied, especially those related to the Iraq War. His influence on public opinion and his critical opinions on Rodríguez Zapatero’s Foreign Policy. The article ends by denying the opinion of renowned professors such as Celestino del Arenal, José Antonio Sanahuja and Manuel Iglesias Cavicchioli, who argue that the Spanish neoconservatives were responsible for the turn in foreign policy of José María Aznar in his second term between 2002 and 2004
