Educación ambiental y medios de comunicación

Abstract

Desde la gestación de la LOGSE, la Educación Ambiental se ha convertido en el genuino representante de las materias transversales a incorporar en el currículum escolar. Sin embargo, la escuela no acaba de hacer suyas estas recomendaciones de integración por distintas razones, entre las que sobresalen la escasez de medios y una insuficiente preparación del profesorado. Mientras tanto, el alumno sigue asistiendo como espectador pasivo a un torrente de términos y noticias ambientales que inundan los medios de comunicación. La propuesta que desde aquí se hace sugiere una utilización sistemática de la prensa y la televisión en la Educación Ambiental en Primaria.

From the development of the LOGSE, the Environmental Education has become the genuine representative of the transverse subjects that have to be incorporated into the educational curriculum. However, the school does not take the ownership of these recommendations of integration due to different reasons, including the shortage of the media and an insufficient training of teachers. Meanwhile, students keep attending as passive spectators the torrent of environmental expressions and news that invade the media. The proposal that is made from here suggests a systematic use of the press and television in the Environmental Education in Primary School.
