Abstract
Mexico has shown over the last few decades a strong dependent relationship towards the US. Currently, considering the new course of action of the US Government –under the direction of the President Donald Trump–, Mexico is facing a challenging situation that could put at risk it´s economic and National Security structure. Being conscientious of this situation, Mexico has to choose between one of the following: trust in a hypothetical regional «Central America Union» or, on the other hand, isolate itself –closing all borders– and trust in a new top international actor to depend on in the future. None of these choices are free from inconvenience though, considering the results of the current excessive dependence towards a unique country, the hypothetic «Central America Union» –under Mexican leadership– seems to be the best solution in the long run
