Armas espirituales. Iglesia y orden real en la Valencia del Renacimiento (1514-1544)

Abstract

En este trabajo estudiamos algunos conflictos entre la Monarquía y la iglesia valenciana a fin de analizar los recursos que ambos poderes usaban para defender su posición y su jurisdicción. Nuestro propósito es mostrar cómo frente a la superioridad pretendida por la Corona, las instituciones eclesiásticas se servían de todos los recursos posibles para defender sus libertades, aun sin cuestionar necesariamente dicha superioridad

In this paper we study several conflicts between the Monarchy and the Valencian Church in order to analyse the ressources that both powers employed to defend their position and jurisdiction. Our aim is to show how, in spite of the superiority pretended by the Crown, the eclesiastic institutions employed every tool they could so as to defend their liberties, but without necessarily questioning the said superiority
