Abstract
captaciones, siendo algunas surgentes.
The area is characterized by the existence of a water table structured in fluvial terraces of about 3-6 m of saturated thickness. The terraces are disconnected (there are springs in the contacts between terraces) and the groundwater of the alluvial plain discharging into the stream of the river Henares thanks to the detected conditions of efluency. At present the use of aquifer it’s only for irrigation and some support to the industrial areas. Towards the mouth of the river a change of facies in the materials of the tertiary takes place from detrital facies (Alcalá de Henares), towards siltstones and marbles (transition facies), and finally gypsum in the sector of Torrejón. The closing of some factories has supposed the total recovery of the water levels in wells (now artesian-flowing). The state of abandonment of these boreholes made necessary to fixed viable rules in order to the seal the wells
