Abstract
The Sopeira Basin is a small extensional basin with a conlinuous record of deposition from the upper Albian to the upper Turonian. In its early stages (upper Albian-middle Cenomanian) the sedimentation was controlled by local factors (extensional tectonics) with an influence of eustatic sea- level change. Later, during the upper Cenomanian-middle Turonian, the main sedimentary features are controlled mainly by global oceanic changes
