Abstract
This autobiographical text is a testimony to the world of the sea and the living-conditions of the fishermen, as seen from Huelva, during the crucial moments of the Spanish Transition from dictatorship to democracy. It is divided into 4 periods: 1) Personal discovery and profound dedication and how it led to political and societal committment; 2) The Institution Stella Maris serving as home and the coordination of the team. 3) The fishermen´s protest, the magazine Camerón as a vehicle for social organzation, and the active intervention of the women during this period (1975-1982); 4) Tasks of a new democratic administration; 5) Retirement, memory, engagement and publications (2006-2017)
