Abstract
The Landete Fm., which conforms the lower part of the Muschelkalk facies, represents the first marine transgression in the Iberian basin during the Mesozoic. The lower-middle part of this unit, which consists of grey dolomites that originally were deposited in shallow marine environments, has yielded a benthic foraminifers which conform the oldest known Foraminifera assemblage after the Permian-Triassic crisis in this area. This assemblage is constituted by Hoyenella sinensis, Paulbronnimannia judicariensis and Turriglomina mesotriasica, being the last one described for the first time in the Iberian Ranges. The presence of P. judicarensis allows to consider these stratigraphic levels as Pelsonian-Illyrian (upper Anisian) in age
